The artwork features migratory birds as they return north through Gaza, just as Palestinians dream of one day returning to their homeland. The birds include the black stork, western marsh harrier, two Eurasian wigeons, short-toed snake eagle, great egret, black-crowned night heron, three steppe eagles, and Levant sparrowhawk. It was inspired by the story of the Sirdah sisters, who have continued to find hope in birdwatching despite the horrors they've endured through a year of genocide.
